Passengers made almost 1,400 official complaints about buses and trains last year, with hundreds of gripes about late-running services, rude drivers and the cost of fares. Of all public transport firms, Bus Éireann attracted the highest number of complaints to the National Transport Authority (NTA) with 484 reports logged. A large number of these were labelled simply "unhappy with bus service". Several commuters were unhappy that drivers failed to stop for them while some other customers looked for compensation for late buses. In another case, a passenger complained a driver had taken a picture of them in "violation of privacy".
