The majority of children infected with Covid-19, the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, do not display typical symptoms of the disease, such as cough, fever, or shortness of breath, a new study indicates. The researchers, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, analysed cases of 12 300 children under 18-years-old who tested positive for Covid. According to their findings, nearly 75% of the children did not experience any of the classic symptoms. "Children infected with Covid-19 present with a broad spectrum of non-specific symptoms across the age groups... Our findings have public health implications," they wrote.
