If there's one thing the Maple Leafs are better at this season, it's the shootout. That's one more win already than last year, when the Leafs went 1-8. The Maple Leafs, for some reason, are historically bad at the shootout. The rest of time they are .500 (three times) or worse (seven times) since the tiebreaker was introduced in the 2006-07 season. But, yes, the Maple Leafs practised the shootout earlier in the week, and William Nylander even practised that move that got the Leafs the extra point in the standings.
