The trouble is, when it comes to diet and exercise, that approach rarely works. You get in great shape, then a few months later you are invariably back to square one, disheartened with your lack of progress. What you need is a realistic plan that will fit into your life and that is manageable long-term. Now that I am 46 I know that altering the way we eat and exercise can produce dramatic changes. The trick is — contrary to popular perception — that you shouldn’t be slowing down as you get older; in fact, you should be pushing yourself to your limit.
