It was then I looked up the internet and came through your article and others, about capital gain tax and interest free loan tax. I was of the impression that there’s no tax on gifts or interest free loan from brother or relatives. I’m a non-Irish non-EU living in Ireland for the last four years, and I don’t know much about Irish tax. And after reading all the articles, I’m really worried that I have to pay a heavy tax on the loan that I’m getting from my brother. Now, if it’s a loan, tax liability works differently.
