Leroy Sané has arrived in Manchester in readiness for an expected move to City for a fee in the region of £35m, according to his club, Schalke. The Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, confirmed last month that the club were in talks with the forward but said the transfer was being held up over the player’s valuation. City have so far signed Ilkay Gündogan from Borussia Dortmund, Nolito from Celta Vigo and Oleksandr Zinchenko from the Ukrainian club FC Ufa this summer. He could make his debut against Arsenal in a friendly in Gothenburg on Sunday. At the same time Schalke’s sporting director, Christian Heidel, said that Sané, who scored eight goals last season as the Bundesliga club finished fifth in the league, had asked for a transfer.
