A hunt has been launched for the first lady of the small African kingdom of Lesotho, who is wanted in connection with the unsolved murder of the prime minister’s previous wife. An arrest warrant was issued for Maesaiah Thabane after she failed to report to police to answer questions about the fatal shooting of Lipolelo Thabane three days before her husband’s inauguration in 2017. Thomas Thabane, 80, married Maesiah Ramoholi, 42, a few months after the killing which was attributed to a wave of a political violence at the time. The landlocked state’s police commissioner said the “noose” was tightening around the prime minister and those close to him.
