Athlete Letesenbet Gidey of Ethiopia last night smashed the world record for 5,000 meters women’s run on track at Valencia, Spain. Improving her compatriot’s Tirunesh Dinbaba’s 2008 record by four seconds, Athlete Letesenbet completed last night race at 14:06.62. Before the the race Letesenbet, who is 22 years old told reporters that she is going to set a new word record at the Valencia race. As she said, Letesenbet now became the fastest woman on the planet in 5,000 meters. “Well done and congratulations to #Ethiopia’s daughter #LetesenbetGidey for setting the 5000m new world record.
