And we read Craig Brown’s weekly commentary, which provides background to The Columbian’s reporting and describes the challenges faced by today’s trustworthy newspapers. So I was surprised and distressed to see Mr. Brown state (“From the Newsroom: When journalism is the news,” The Columbian, April 22), that CNN and MSNBC were in the same category of reporting as Fox News. Fox News is a source whose content in any area can never be trusted. I read CNN coverage online every day because it publishes breaking news before the other trustworthy sources I read like the New York Times, Washington Post and The Guardian. Mr. Brown’s lumping of CNN in with Fox News is simply wrong and out of character for Mr. Brown.
