Leyte sports school produces top athletesTacloban City — The Leyte Sports Academy (LSA), based in this city, is emerging as breeding ground for world class athletes. Last year, LSA athletes won 10 golds, 22 silvers and nine bronzes in tournaments in Hong Kong and Taiwan. At the 2014 Oceania & Asian Powerlifting Championship in Melbourne, Australia, LSA athletes won six medals. In regional and national competitions this year, the school’s athletes won 41 gold, 45 silver and 34 bronze medals, Petilla said. LSA was founded in August 19, 2010 with the objective to promote world class athletes from Leyte.
