Liberia: Civil Servant Union Threatens Go-slow if Gov’t Fails to Pay Salaries by December 15


The leadership of the Civil Servants Union of Liberia called on the government of Liberia to spirit and intent” of the memorandum of understanding entered with the CSUL on October 19, this year. Monrovia – The Civil Servant Union of Liberia (CSUL) has threatened to stage a nationwide strike action if the Government fails to pay salary arrears owed them by December 15. The MOU, among other things, called on the government to regularize the payment of civil servants’ salaries. The CSUL is a conglomeration of civil servants across Liberia. The Liberian Government has come under increasing pressure from the public over the “prevailing economic hardship” amid a crippling economy.
