Liberia Council of Churches’ President Calls for Concerted Effort to End Spread of HIV/AIDS


MONROVIA – Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) President, Bishop Kortu Brown has called for a united effort in the fight to end the spread of HIV and AIDS in Liberia. Bishop Brown encouraged citizens across the country to consider their health as a critical priority, adding that to overcome and end AIDS; the world must stand in solidarity and share responsibility. The LCC asserted that its hearts are with brethrens who have died from AIDS and those living with HIV. UNAIDS is leading the global effort to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Liberian clergyman maintained that the need to focus on what affects the everyday lives of people should not be taken likely.
