Eyewitnesses gripped with sorry told an FPA reporter that after the EPS agent stabbed the deceased, he intended boarding his vehicle along with his accomplice, Kelvin David, but they were vehemently prevented from leaving the scene. After the men absconded, some angry residents of Kakata went on the rampage, setting ablaze the EPS agent vehicle and blocking the Kakata-Gbarnga highway with burning tires, thus impeding the flow of vehicular traffic for several hours. Agent Kamara and his colleague later turned themselves in at the Margibi County Detachment of the Liberia National Police for fear of reprisal from angry protesters. At the same time, Abraham Mulbah was rushed to the Charles Henry Rennie Memory Hospital in Kakata where he was pronounced dead upon arrival by doctors. Meanwhile, police authority in Kakata said investigation was ongoing into the alleged phone theft based on a formal complaint filed by agent Kamara but were surprised that the EPS agent would ignore the police investigation and begin his own probe.
