Monrovia – Liberia has actively participated in the conference, which drafted the agreement establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in Kigali, Rwanda. This is in accordance with the Pan African Vision of “An integrated prosperous and peaceful Africa” enshrined in Agenda 2063. The objectives for creating this Continental Free Trade Area by the African Union include among other things creating a liberalized market for goods and services through successive rounds of negotiations. It is also a precursor to lay the foundation for the eventual establishment of a Continental Customs Union and a Continental Single Market. They also intend to enhance the competitiveness of the economies of State Parties within the Continent and at the global market.
