Since the signing of the concession of the agreement, Sime Darby experienced obstacles in its expansion ranging from disputes with local communities over land ownership, international deforestation requirements and other conservation issues. A number of employees have taken Sime Darby to the Ministry of Labour for unfair Labour practices.
