The sum of US $1.8 million is a lot of money in Liberia. It could build two miles of paved road, many schools and health centers, provide textbooks and medicine across Liberia. According to WFP, the amount is “just” about 6 percent of the $30 million, or about $1,8 million. The sum of US $1.8 million is a lot of money in Liberia. Why, after almost 200 years of existence and 15 years of democratic governance, Liberia cannot distribute food to its own people?
