Liberian Businessman Refutes ‘Propaganda’ About Eviction Link

The eviction, which took place in the New Georgia Junction community, reportedly involved a court sheriff acting on a writ of possession, supported by officers of the Liberia National Police. Witnesses and media reports from the day showed residents pleading for intervention as the eviction unfolded, raising broader concerns about land disputes and enforcement methods in urban communities. Lawah said he began noticing what he described as coordinated media reports and public claims falsely identifying him as the mastermind behind the eviction. In an effort to distance himself from the eviction, Lawah cited official court documents related to the case, pointing out that his name does not appear in the legal proceedings. According to him, the eviction was based on a writ of possession issued by the Civil Law Court during its December Term A.D. 2025.
