Paynesville City – Liberians have started forming long queues to enter the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex where the inauguration of President-elect George Weah will be held on Monday, January 22. Enthusiasm is very high amongst many Liberians ahead of Monday’s historic transition of power from one democratic government to another in over four decades. One commercial motorcyclist told FrontPage Africa he began commuting passengers to the ELWA junction as early as 5:15 am. Reports on local radio stations early Monday morning quoting organizers of the ceremony called on Liberians to attend the event even without official invitation. As of 2:30 a.m. Monday morning, organizers were seen getting the stage ready and doing their final touches on other parts of the stadium Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex where the historic event would be held.
