Libyan leaders discuss government vacancies and coordination


Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdulhamid Dbeibah met with Mohamed Menfi, head of the Presidential Council (PC), and Mohamed Takala, president of the High Council of State (HCS), to discuss recent steps aimed at addressing vacancies within the government. According to a joint statement, the meeting reviewed measures taken by Dbeibah to fill vacant posts in parts of the government and maintain the functioning of public institutions. The PM said the steps were intended to ensure the continuity of state institutions and the regular operation of the executive authority, allowing public services to continue. Takala expressed support for the move, while Menfi approved the procedures taken to fill the vacancies and improve efficiency within the executive branch. The three officials also stressed the need for continued coordination between state institutions and said strengthening cooperation could help create conditions for national consensus and the holding of elections based on agreed rules.
