As the smallest fox in the world, the fennec fox has its most notable characteristic large ears, measuring six inches. Those ears not only help them hunt at night, but also serve to dissipate excess heat of the desert. The home range of these foxes is widespread throughout the deserts of the Sahara and throughout North Africa.
