Dion Phaneuf’s turnover turned into Jordan Weal’s first goal as a Canadien, halfway through the second period. Brendan Gallagher’s 30th got the Canadiens on the board, a shade over three minutes into the game. Gallagher tipped a Victor Mete point shot past Jonathan Quick.
