But Johnson, who spent six years at Liverpool, believes his former club would have been better off spending the Konate cash on Real Madrid and France star Varane. On Tuesday, Manchester United confirmed they had reached an agreement to bring Varane to Old Trafford, with the 28-year-old now set to undergo a medical at the club.
