I am no psychologist, but I would like to call what the majority of us are experiencing as “lockdown fatigue,” particularly with our country having imposed the longest quarantine period in the globe. Take the case of checkpoints where the ones that were once removed have been returned — yet without the usual checks. With an MECQ classification, public transportation is banned, yet, in my city alone, there are still drivers operating their jeepneys. It is definitely not because of the unconcern of Filipinos that there is currently no difference between the reverted MECQ and previous GCQ classifications. Announcement or not of supposedly going back to a more relaxed lockdown, how will it be different anyway?
