Shing Yin House of Tin Shing Court in Tin Shui Wai was locked down on Wednesday afternoon after the sewage samples there tested positive for Covid-19. The lockdown was declared at 2pm and is expected to be lifted at around noon on Thursday. Residents there must undergo compulsory testing arranged by health officials, while those who had been to the two buildings for more than two hours between January 27 and today (Feb 9) must also take the Covid tests by Friday (Feb 11). Vaccinated citizens and those who recently tested negative must also undergo the tests as well for a mutant strain is involved. A government spokesman explained the lockdown came as health officials suspected there are hidden patients living in the area after the sewage samples discharged from there tested positive for the coronavirus.
