The Blues midfielder enjoyed a hugely impressive second-half of the 2020-21 season under Thomas Tuchel, helping the club win the Champions League for the second time in their history. Jorginho’s Chelsea teammate N’Golo Kante has been widely praised after his incredible domestic season with Paul Pogba among the many calling for the Frenchman to win football’s biggest individual accolade. But Napoli star Insigne hopes to see his countryman in the running too. ‘I’m not the one deciding if he deserves the Ballon d’Or, but I hope he’ll be shortlisted, he deserves so, he is a great player.
