The NCAA Tuesday forced the University of Louisville to vacate its wins from 2011 through 2015—including its 2013 national championship—following a scandal in which a former escort said she had sex with men’s basketball players and recruits for money. But it had appealed the NCAA’s ruling on major rules violations that focused on the school’s former director of basketball operations Andre McGee. No Division I basketball title has ever been vacated. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are embroiled in a more recent scandal that has rattled the entire college basketball world. Before this ruling, Pitino was the only Division I head coach to win a title at two different schools.
