Lower Sackville man’s body pulled from water after weekend fishing trip

HALIFAX—Police say they have found the body of a man who went fishing at Halifax-area lake on the weekend. The RCMP were called to Dollar Lake Provincial Park at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in relation to an overdue fisherman. Police say a 72-year-old man from Lower Sackville went fishing at Dollar Lake and that his truck was still parked at the boat launch when it was dark. At 1:47 a.m., police say the man’s body was located in the water. Police say they believe the man was wearing a flotation and that the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Service will perform an autopsy on Monday.
