Lucinda Riley, author of the Seven Sisters series and ex West Cork resident, dies


Lucinda Riley, the Irish-born author of the Seven Sisters series passed away on June 11 following a diagnosis of cancer four years ago. Riley, 56, was born in Drumbeg, Co Down and moved to Britain with her parents and sister at the age of five. In 2016, Riley had renovated a house in Clonakilty, and had told the Irish Examiner about her plans to spend more time in the area. “I’m on the slow boat to Ireland, and I’m staying here. I want to come home again.’ It will be my primary residence in three years’ time when the kids finish school.”
