Colombian president Gustavo Petro said on social media that his mother, Cilenis Marulanda, had been found while the search to find Luis Manuel Diaz remained ongoing at the time. As per the Daily Mail, Diaz’s father was found and rescued during a shootout that left two of his captors dead. Liverpool added that “the player’s welfare will continue to be our immediate priority” and they will support him by any means necessary. Additionally, the Colombian Football Federation also offered their support to the former Porto winger.
