Lululemon sold women on $100 leggings. Now it’s coming after men, with $38 boxers.

(Patrick T. Fallon/Bloomberg)Lululemon, the purveyor of $100 yoga pants, is setting its sights on a growing market: men. Lululemon recently introduced two styles of boxers — priced between $28 and $38 — and plans to expand its lineup of men’s running gear in the coming months. The company, which last year had $3.3 billion in revenue, says it expects men’s business to reach $1 billion a year by 2020. Sales of men’s pants and shorts at Lululemon rose 28 percent last year, compared to 21 percent growth for women’s bottoms. Earlier this week, McDonald told the Wall Street Journal he has no plans to mark down the company’s $100 yoga pants to compete with lower-priced retailers.
