En el Mérito Deportivo, en su edición 42, se inscribieron 137 deportistas de 27 asociaciones. Mientras que Mauricio Canul Facundo, de pesas fue reconocido como el Mérito Deportivo Municipal, que por primera vez entró en este esquema. El Premio Estatal del Deporte fue para el entrenador Lázaro Medina Lugo, de pesas, y el promotor deportivo Javier Carrillo López, guia y entrenador de ciegos y débiles visuales. Se entregaron los cheques simbólicos de apoyos económicos por 426 mil pesos para el Mérito Deportivo y 110 mil pesos para el Premio Estatal del Deporte.
