Lyft Inc. reported a dramatic drop in riders and revenue in the second quarter, as rising coronavirus infections in the U.S. and prolonged shutdowns weighed on its results. The San Francisco-based ride-hailing company said it had 8.7 million active riders in the three months ended June 30, compared with 21.8 million in the year-earlier quarter and 21.2 million in the previous quarter, when the pandemic hit the U.S., keeping people at home and disrupting travel.
