M&S has now secured its position as the third highest-paying retailer nationwide following this initiative, trailing only its budget German supermarket competitors. ‌Meanwhile, budget retailer Lidl raised its starting wage from 1st March to £13.45 across the country, climbing to £14.45 depending on tenure, whilst within the M25 it reaches £14.80, progressing to £15.30 based on service length.
