Now let's be clear I think it's impossible to win a trade if your Leafs and trading Nylander and therefore think it's a terrible idea. He's given his word he wants Nylander and won't trade him. In that scenario, the Leafs -- or any team -- could acquire the remaining heft of Weber's contract for an asset or two. If Matthews signals he wants to leave Toronto, the Leafs would trade him. If the money is ridiculously too high -- the gambit I'd choose if I was Arizona -- the Leafs would match and trade.
