KUALA LUMPUR: MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong today expressed deep sadness over the death of party veteran and former national organising secretary Wang Choon Wing, also known as Wong Soon Joong, describing his death as a profound loss to the party and the nation. In a statement, Wee conveyed his deepest condolences to Wang's family on behalf of the MCA, paying tribute to Wang's lifelong dedication to public service and community work. "Wang lived a life of purpose and service, leaving behind lasting contributions not only to the party, but also to the nation and the wider community," the statement said. Even after retiring from frontline politics, Wee said Wang continued to contribute to society by dedicating his time and experience to various community and social causes. Among others, Wang served as vice-president of the Malaysian Buddhist Association and as an honorary advisor to the Malaysia–China Chamber of Commerce.
