MITI hopes to approve RM30.8b worth of investments by year end


According to him, Malaysia's FDI in 1H16 stood at RM28.2 billion, translating into 78.2% of the total foreign investments approved last year. These subsectors made up 83.2% of the total investments in the services sector, MITI said. During the period, Mustapa said the country has attracted foreign investments amounting to RM12.5 billion or 63.8% of the total approved investments in the manufacturing sector. "Investments in these states accounted for 77% of the total approved investments in the manufacturing sector. Commenting on the primary sector, Mustapa said the sector contributed 1% to the total approved projects in 1H16.
