Major League Baseball cancelled spring training games and has delayed opening day by at least two weeks due to COVID-19. And initially, Major League Baseball postponed its planned March 26 opening day until at least the second week of April. Early Monday morning, commissioner Rob Manfred announced that MLB’s hoped-for start date of April 9 will not be happening. At this point, there is no clear timetable for when baseball might start again. At that point, they should stick to the normal pacing of the schedule of games and play however many there are left.
