Layla Moran said she struggled with her weight throughout her childhood until she reached 5ft 6in - but weighed almost 20 stone. Her stomach was stapled in a process called a sleeve gastrectomy, where a large portion of the stomach is removed leaving only a "sleeve" for food. In an interview with the newspaper, Ms Moran said she is now down from a size 24 to a "happy" size 12. The surgery came after years of dieting and exercise in which she found "it was just really hard for me to lose weight."
