(Photo: Dr Santitarn Sathirathai Facebook account)A member of the Bank of Thailand’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), Santitarn Sathirathai, has left the seven-member panel amid reports he is set to join a team led by Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanpraphas. The central bank’s website on Friday showed his seat vacant, leaving the panel with six members, led by chairman Vitai Ratanakorn, the BoT governor. Mr Santitarn, a specialist in finance and economic development, was due to complete his three-year term as an independent member of the rate-setting panel in October. Bluebik Group Plc, a technology and business consulting firm, informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) on Monday that Mr Santitarn would leave the company's board after Tuesday due to "other commitments".
