MSI Confirms 300-series Chipset Motherboards Will Actually Support 3rd Gen Ryzen 'Zen 2' Processors

PC motherboard manufacturer MSI has responded to reports that its 300-series (eg X370, B350) AMD Socket AM4 motherboards would not be compatible with AMDs new 3rd Gen Ryzen/Zen 2 processors, saying its service representative who offered the advice was incorrect. AMDEarlier this week I reported that Reddit user U/MASTER3553 had posted a chat transcript showing an MSI customer service representative stating the company's 300-series AMD AM4 motherboards would not support AMD's 3rd Gen Ryzen/Zen 2 processors, which are due for release this summer. Towards the launch of the next-gen AMD CPUs, we will release a compatibility list of MSI AM4 motherboards. Below is a full list of upcoming BIOS versions which include compatibility for the next-gen AMD APUs for our 300-Series and 400-Series AM4 motherboards based on the latest AMD Combo PI version 1.0.0.0. Thankfully, in this case, it didn't turn out that way and owners of the above 300-series chipset boards can look forward to continued support for AMD's Ryzen processors.
