An anti-drug raid was conducted on the house of Maasim, Sarangani Mayor Aniceta "Jojo" Lopez. The operation was conducted by agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine National Police-Special Action Force and the Philippine Army. Only the caretaker was in the mayor's home during the raid. The mayor has reportedly sent surrender feelers to the police. The local official had been reportedly into drug trafficking since 2015.
