Madison County Commissioners approve pay raises for county officers

The Madison County commissioners today (Tuesday) approved pay raises for all the county’s elected officials. Board Chairman Troy Uhlir said each officer will receive about a 6% raise over the course of a four-year period running from 2027 to 2030. Uhlir tells News Talk WJAG the pay increase also impacts the pay of non-elected officers in each office. "Off these salaries comes the chief deputies and deputies pay in each office," Uhlir said. Uhlir said according to state statute, chief deputies in each office are required to receive 73% of the pay of the elected officer in that office.
