Nearly eight months after the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 came into force, appointments to some of the key posts at various universities in the state are still in a limbo. Apart from this, the government is also yet to streamline the appointments of various directors of centres and subcentres at the University level. With the ad hoc appointments, some of the key decisions at these centres are being hauled leading to delays in the various processes like examinations, results etc. Sanjay Vairal, an ex-Senate member at the University said that the delay in making some of the key appointments would be dangerous for students. Sachin Pawar, President, Student Law Council said that the government should ensure that all the key appointments are made with immediate effect. "
