The Centre will allocate ₹7,200 crore for the scheme to the State this year. Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal had announced this scheme in the interim budget tabled in last week. Mr. Patil said that a presentation in this connection was made in the recent cabinet meeting. The government will try to ensure that the needy farmers would benefit under this scheme,” he said. A family, which includes husband, wife and children below 18 years, will be considered as one unit.
