Maharashtra cancels board exams for Standard XII


The Maharashtra government on Thursday cancelled the board exams for Standard XII. A proposal to this effect was sent to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for sanction and was cleared by it. State School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad on Wednesday said the proposal to cancel the exam was sent to the SDMA. The Centre has cancelled the CBSE board exam. Ms. Gaikwad said considering the board, school and college exams in future, the students, teachers and non-teaching staff should be given the status of frontline workers and given vaccination on priority.
