Fadnavis' statement has come a day after the BJP suffered a setback in municipal council elections in Marathwada. The party has gained number one position in the civic body elections based on its performance in other parts of the state except Marathwada. Both Munde and Danve could not win the party elections in their respective home towns of Parali in Beed and Bhokardan in Jalna. "In 2011 elections to the same 164 civic bodies, the BJP didn't win a single seat in 80 of these civic bodies. In a dig at Fadnavis Thackeray had said that Shiv Sena posted good results despite him not campaign at all.
