They may have suffered their third league defeat of the season, but Maidenhead Women's 1st team left the field with their heads held high after Saturday's 3-1 home defeat to Oxford Hawks 2nds. Unfortunately, Hawks restored their two-goal cushion before the break and defended resolutely in the second half as Maidenhead threw everything at them. Despite producing one of their most complete displays this season, the Hawks held on for a 3-1 victory, however, Maids should take confidence from this into Saturday's game at Oxford Ladies 1sts. Maidenhead Men's 1sts team also produced their best display to date as they went down 3-2 at home to Milton Keynes. They remain bottom of the table after seven straight losses but have restored some pride ahead of Saturday's home game against leaders Basingstoke.
