The 24-week programme will see Alexandra Dock flyover refurbished along with a full resurfacing of the dual carriageway between Westgate and Lockhill roundabouts. North East Lincolnshire Council says the work, which will begin on Monday, April 13, is vital to secure the future of the bridge. These bridges “required more immediate maintenance” than the Alexandra Road flyover, the council said. The council hopes the works requiring contraflow traffic arrangements will be complete before the peak summer season when traffic to Cleethorpes increases.
