Malaysia asked to act as mediator between Gulf countries and Iran

IPOH: Malaysia is playing mediator between several Gulf countries and Iran to ease tension in the Middle East. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said several Arab leaders have contacted him, asking him to send their views to Iranian leaders in peace-brokering efforts. "In some calls with Arab leaders, they've asked me to convey messages to the Iranian president because they know Malaysia's relationship with Iran is good. Anwar also said that being an independent country, Malaysia was among the few countries that dared object against the attack by Israel and the US on Iran. He added that the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has given assurance to help Malaysia deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza via Rafah.
