The company has shed most of its subsidiaries and is focused on property and packaging, primarily shrink wrap. It now aims to more than double its shrink wrap production capacity over the next decade to 1 million tonnes from 455,000 tonnes today. Three years later, Lim diversified into stretch film packaging, commonly known as shrink wrap. Today, Scientex claims to be Asia’s largest producer of shrink wrap. Lim says boosting shrink wrap production will help support his goal of quadrupling Scientex’s revenue to 10 billion ringgit by 2028.
